Crew Report - 16 Dec 12

December 16, 2012 at 9:18 PM

The most important message for this report is to wish all of the partners, friends and fans of the Blue Thunder Air Racing Team a Happy Hanukkah, Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The GPS test I mentioned in the November 21st report was completed December 9th and was quite successful. The test included high rate turns at speeds in excess of 400 MPH and a roll. The GPS did not get lost as the Garmin’s did; so, we will now have accurate tracking data in the 2013 air races.

Blue Thunder II is now deep into the 2013 conational inspection process and the above pictures are of Mike and I preparing the standard Thunder Mustang engine to go on the dyno. We want to verify the horsepower of the standard engine as well as fine tune the MAP program for the Motec ECUs.

The next report will include the results to the dyno testing and any other item that we find significant during the conditional inspection.

Once again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the entire Blue Crew to everyone.
